The month of March began with a lively performance by our students’ attending the special needs education school “Atelier du Savoir”. The music group “Racinn Lavenir” was born from the children’s shared passion for music and dance. As part of their pedagogical training, music classes have shown a pivotal role in establishing a positive development of their mental, psychosocial, and interpersonal skills.

Hence, last Monday, 2nd of March, the talented members of this eclectic instrumental group performed for nearly one hour on the beautiful stage of the Club Med Hotel in Albion. The guests included tourists staying at the hotel but also local, international staff and special visitors. The performance blended into the hotel’s distinctive Monday-theme of the “Mauritian Spirit” putting forward the local “Sega” music and colorful flowery dancers.

This unique collaboration between the “Fondation Club Med” and Terre de Paix may open doors to future events. For the moment, the funds collected are being used for the creation and publication of a follow-up pedagogical leaflet that would enhance the visits of children in relation to the psychosocial developmental attributes of the Jardin d’Eveil*.
